Add your own home improvment tip

Suggestion #1
Problem : The garage and room in my basement where always freezing in the winter. The garage was also very hot during the summer. During the winter this tip will help keep the cold outside air out of the garage and out of the room in the basement. During the summer it helps trap the cool inside air in the garage.
Description : I purchased some foam insulation panels (4X8) from home depot cut them into squares with a razor knife and taped them to the inside of the garage door. The panels have to be wedged under the doorframes, so taping is probably not 100% necessary.
Benifit : In the winter the basement room is much warmer and so is the garage. In the summer the cool air from the basement gets trapped in the garage and keeps it nice and cool. It also acts as sound insulation for people like me that work late in the garage.
Cost : I believe it took me 2 or 3 sheets of the insulation (4X8) and 1 roll of metal duct tape. Cost was under 100 dollars.
